mommy goes back..

17 Jul

a month ago, my mom and I said “See you again” to my dad.. and now my mom flies across to Qatar to accompany him.. :(

it’s a busy day since morning.. mom kept on calling me to help her, and I kept coming to her to help her with things. many many things.. we left around 2 p.m, my brother driving the car with his wife upfront, while I sat in the back with mom.. uh, how I miss her..

on our way to the airport

my mom wore an abaya, to make it easier for her to pray at abu dhabi on her transit time. ah, Abu Dhabi airport.. I remember the first time I were there.. :) very impressive! anyway, the abaya that she’s wearing is one of my favorite. very pretty embroidery!

mom's pretty abaya

see you in a couple of months, mom! insyaAllah.. :) I’ll be waiting here for you.. :*

15 Jul

;) ajarin aku jait doooong.. heheh..

and here goes my first project! karena si bunda dulunya bikin2 sprei, jadi beliau punya baaaanyak banget bahan sprei sisa.. mulailah gw, motong2in bahan2 itu jadi kotak-kotak ukuran 5 inchi, terus gw gabung2in.. dari iseng, akhirnya jadi seriusan.. milih warnanya, terus ngatur posisi perca juga..

tebaran perca

*teuteup

sudah hampir jadi!

percanya dijahit per baris.. abis itu, baris per baris disatuin.. 1 baris ditambah 1 baris.. terus yang 2 baris, disambung sama 2 baris lagi, 4 baris, gabung lagi.. daaaan seterusnya, sampe kira-kira ada 16 baris rasanya..

lihat lebih dekat.. :)

setelah semua kotak-kotak kecil itu disatuin, tinggal dipasangin dakron supaya jadi bedcover.. masalahnya, si Bunda males banget ngajarin bikinnya.. :) ) katanya, “Repot, dek!” akhirnya si patchwork terbengkalai.. apalagi, ga lama setelah patchwork ini selesai, gw diterima kerja *yang prosesnya cuma 1 minggu itu doang*.

setelah satu tahun lebih si patchwork dianggurin, akhirnya minggu lalu dibawa ke tukang jait bedcover, dan disulap jadi bedcover! jadinya rada berantakan, karena gw dulu bikinnya buat tempat tidur gw.. karena insyaAllah tahun depan udah ga tidur di tempat tidur kecil lagi, akhirnya bikin bedcover gede aja sekalian.. :) ditambal2 deh.. :p

my first patchwork bedcover!

syenaaaaaang.. :D cantik juga ya jadinya? *muji diri sendiri :p dipake di tempat tidur ayah ibu dulu, kegedean kalo di tempat tidurku.. :D

mother-daughter day out..

29 Jun

it’s a public holiday here in Indonesia.. thank God I’m living in a country with so many cultures and religions, so we get many many public holidays! hihi.. lazy employee.. :p

anyway, it’s a public holiday, so mom and I went out. just the two of us. we left house around 9 in the morning, headed to Pondok Indah Mall, because mom said that there’s an extra discount in the department store, just for today. it was still so early! the mall hasn’t really operated yet, and I was hungry.. *of course I am.. kehkeh..* so we ate at Es Teler 77. both of us had fried rice. mine was the normal fried rice, while mom had the salty fish fried rice. at PIM, the price for each food is higher, but the portion is smaller. that’s what I see from my experience because I eat at Es Teler 77 a lot.

at Es Teler 77 PIM

after the tummies are full, and we’re happy, we headed to Metro Department Store. yup! they had an extra discount program for 10%. I needed to buy something, it wasn’t a “shopping girl” kind of thing.. so I didn’t feel so guilty about buying those I need. but I do feel guilty of purchasing some things, though.. :p I found a ladybug slipper. it cost about IDR 69.0000, and it was so cute! but I didn’t bring it home with me.. and we also find something we loved, but didn’t buy it either. we plan to make it. heheh..

so cute!

at the fitting room

after hours of circling around the department store, we left PIM and headed to Majestic Market. mom wanted to pick a fabric for my bro’s room window, and of course she’ll be asking my opinion about it. we also brought my patchwork to make a bedcover out of it. it was kind of confusing me.. @____@ I want to be able to make it on my own, it costs almost the same as buying the bedcover in whole!

me choosing the fabric..

mom picking.. picking.. picking..

tiring day! but so much FUN!!! I love you, mumzie.. :*

Lampung, May 6-8 2011

24 May

this was my second time to Lampung, and this time I went with the big family and also my bf.. :)

we flew to Lampung on Friday afternoon *almost night* on May 6th. it was only a 25-minutes flight, but we got to the airport HOURS before departing. the flight was delayed twice. for an hour, then for 40 minutes. such a looooong time to wait. so we just sat, and chit-chat. there were almost 15 of us, so it was fun!

after the short flight, we got to Lampung, checked in to a hotel we’ve reserved, and met my brother, the groom.. hihi.. yes, we’re there for my brother’s wedding.. :)

the dinner was amazing.. I’ve never had dinner in such a long table. imagine 16 people sitting together for dinner? well, I’ve been there.. :D the groom sat in the center of the crowd, making me and my bf shoved to the side. but we don’t mind. being there means we don’t have to share many meals with the others. xixi..

the family dinner

on the wedding day, I had my make up done by someone from the salon, and it was THICK!! euuuww.. I had to wipe it off in the car, on my way to the bride’s house. and alhamdulillah, by noon, it looked natural. I don’t really like wearing such thick make up. I only do the natural look. oh, here’s a picture of me, my family, and the bride’s family.

the bride's and groom's families..

from left to right: yoga (the bride’s youngest brother), adi (the bride’s oldest brother), the bride’s mom, my brother, me, Reni (or mbak Icha, the bride), my mom, and my daddy.

me and my bf

and that’s me and my bf, before we all go back to our hotel to rest. such a tiiiring day..

my brother didn’t come home with us that night. he stayed back at the bride’s house. and later on that night, the whole family *except my dad* went out to buy some food to take back to Jakarta, and also for dinner.

me and bf, dinner

the restaurant is located up high in Lampung. I don’t even remember the name! oops.. but the food was good, though. I don’t have a picture of the whole family, I hope you don’t mind me putting another picture of me and bf. ;)

our last day in Lampung. it was still early, and some of the female decided to go shopping!! souvenirs, this time. and I didn’t ask my bf to come because I know it would bore him, and he needed a rest anyway. the shop was close to our hotel. but the collection wasn’t really interesting. I bought several really ugly key chain, because I don’t know what else to get. the statues were good. they were the carving of elephants, Lampung’s animal. and some place in Lampung called Way Kambas, there’s a soccer school for elephants. we didn’t purchase any of the statues, because we’re not actually allowed to keep statues of living things in our house by the religion.

me, in front of the elephants-playing-soccer statues

well, that’s all for now.. I’m going to Lembang, Bandung this weekend, and off to Pati, Semarang, etc next June.. :D
